Obama proves he's a manipulator - again

March 19th, Obama in a speech to an electric car company in Orange County said, "The 1908 Model T -- think about this -- the 1908 Model T earned better gas mileage than the typical SUV in 2008. Think about that -- a hundred years later and we're getting less gas mileage, not better, on SUVs."

Obama can't possibly believe what he's saying here. He must not have pre-read what the teleprompter was printing for him, because his statement above just doesn't make sense. It's a totally disingenuous attempt at manipulating people.

The 1908 Model T, according to Wikipedia, had a 20 horsepower engine and a top speed of 45 miles an hour on a down hill with a tail wind. It was a mostly open carraige vehicle with no air-conditioner and a manual transmission.

2008 SUVs are generally 200-300hp engines that can pull a boat at 70mph while carring 7 passengers and blasting full, cold AC to all the occupants. There is no possible comparison to an old Model T except that the vehicles both have internal combustion engines and are designed to carry people.

Undoubtedly Obama would have thought of this if he'd proof-read his speech, which brings us to one of two depressing conclusions. Either he trusts his speech writer enough to never double check what he's going to be saying, which is irresponsible, lazy, and unbecoming of a President of the United States, or he knows exactly what he's saying and goes full bore anyway, purposefully deceiving the American people in order to push his own agenda.

Fortunately Obama's low-brow speech manipulation tactics don't work on people who possess even average intelligence and who are willing to give more than a passing thought to his words. Unfortunately, it seems that the majority of American's these days are so intellectually lazy that they don't bother to waste a brain cell on what Obama is saying and hence just follow him willy-nilly because they only hear the flowery words without bothering to understand them.

Please wake up America. You are following a communist who wants to reshape the United States into the next Venezuala. Unless you want to start waiting in line for basic health care, unless you want to start paying 70% of your income to the government, unless you want to start languishing in the poor house in your old age...WAKE UP, LISTEN, AND STOP FOLLOWING BARAK OBAMA!!!
